What is Nakavu?
Nakavu is a platform that helps creators receive support from their audience through donations and subscriptions. It’s a safe, easy way to connect creators with fans who want to support their work.
How do I become a creator?
To become a creator, visit the “Start Earning” page from your Dashboard page, agree to our Creator Policy, and connect your Stripe account. Once approved, you can start receiving donations and set up subscriptions.
Donations
What is a donation?
A donation is a one-time payment that supporters send to creators to show appreciation for their work.
How do I donate?
To donate, visit the creator’s profile, click the “Donate” button, choose the amount, and confirm payment. Your payment will be processed securely via Stripe.
Can I donate more than once?
Yes! You can donate multiple times to the same creator or different creators whenever you wish.
How are donations processed?
All donations are processed by Stripe, a trusted global payment provider. Nakavu never stores your card details.
Subscriptions
What are subscriptions?
Subscriptions are recurring monthly payments supporters can make to creators. This provides steady support to creators and exclusive benefits for subscribers.
How many subscription tiers can I create?
A creator can create up to three subscription tiers. One default tier is created automatically when subscriptions are enabled, but it can be edited.
Can I change subscription tiers after they are created?
Yes. Creators can change the name, description, and price of tiers, or deactivate them. Active subscriptions continue until cancelled by the supporter or creator.
How often are subscriptions billed?
Subscriptions are billed monthly.
How do I subscribe to a creator?
Visit the creator’s profile, choose the subscription tier you want, and confirm your payment. Your subscription will be renewed automatically every month until you cancel it.
Stripe Payments
What is Stripe?
Stripe is a secure online payment processor that Nakavu uses to handle all transactions. Stripe meets the highest security standards and does not store card data within Nakavu.
How do I connect my Stripe account?
Go to “Become a Creator” and click “Connect with Stripe.” You will be redirected to Stripe to set up your account. Once connected, you can start receiving donations and subscription payments.
Is it safe to use Stripe?
Yes. Stripe uses industry-standard security and encryption. Your payment details are never stored by Nakavu.
Security & Privacy
Does Nakavu store my payment details?
No. Payment details are handled exclusively by Stripe. Nakavu never stores your credit card or bank information.
Is my personal data safe?
Yes. We use industry-standard encryption and privacy measures to protect your data.
Can my donations be anonymous?
Yes. You can choose to donate anonymously when making a payment. Your name will not appear publicly.
Account & Settings
How do I change my email or password?
Go to your account settings, and update your information.
How do I cancel a subscription?
Go to “Dashboard” and select the subscription you want to cancel. Click “Cancel” to stop recurring payments.
How do I delete my account?
Please contact our support team via the contact form to request account deletion.
